The GT-R World Cup is only a couple weeks away and we are working hard to get 2 cars put together for the event. The first being GT-R World Cup founder Eric Gaudi's Boost Logic 1050x powered 2017 R35 GT-R. With it's ALPHA built engine and Sheptrans GR6 transmission, it's a great, reliable street build that should hold it's own.
Where things get really interesting is this being the first year for the new DCT class at the event where other cars are allowed to compete. Any modern supercar with a dual clutch transmission is now able to duke it out alongside the Nissan GT-R's which will make for some exciting racing.
This presents us with a chance to bring out Wayne's freshly completed CSO1200 2019 McLaren 720s. This car put out 1100+whp on our in-house Dynojet 424x chassis dyno. The package consists of Pure1200 turbos, Injector Dynamics fuel injectors, Unobtanium 3.5" exhaust system and M-Tuner Calibration Suite by M-Engineering carefully dialed in here at Cannonball Garage. Most importantly we look forward to seeing what this package is capable of but will enjoy racing against the others in the 32 car field.
GT-R World Cup is a unique event we look forward to each year. It's part race and part vacation. The race itself is hosted at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida but what makes it unique is the VIP treatment at the track and hotel in nearby Sarasota where an awards party and other event festivities occur.
At the track racers and VIP guests are treated to meals and refreshments in a private sectioned off tent. This allows racers and teams to focus on racing, not logistics of getting food and finding a place to sit down and relax.
In addition, unlike most events where participants stay at various hotels in the area and are forced to spend evening hours at the local Outback Steakhouse, the GT-R World Cup is centered around the racers at the host hotel. This allows racers and those purchasing the unique VIP pass the chance to mingle in the off hours of the weekend in one central location and enjoy the open bar and awards party after the event.
